Here's What's Happening...*Our second phase in the renovation project is progressing. Stop by and check out the progress! *The Wisdom Group (55 and older) will be going to Keeneland race track on October 10th. Check the sign-up sheet in the back of church for more information. *Preparation for the readings for the weekend masses is being held on Wednesday Evenings at 7:00pm during the summer. *Save the date of Wednesday, October 6th for the Parish Potluck Supper to welcome newcomers to JOS. It will take place outdoors in the JOS parking lot (weather permitting). The church will provide Cincinnati chili, hotdogs, buns and lemonade. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish to share. There will be live music and games for the children. So, mark your calendar for this evening of food, fun, and a chance to get acquainted with new parishoners. *Parish council invites volunteers to serve on the ad hoc art and environment committee. Interested individuals can leave their name at the church office or contact a member of parish council before Wednesday, Sept. 22nd. *Adult Education classes will begin Sunday, September 19th. Kay Stiner will be speaking to the parish about the new Free Clinic here in Morehead. This year we will have a very exciting schedule of topics beginning with the monthly review of sections of the Catholic faith, led by Fr. Jay. The schedule for the months of October through January: -Oct. 3rd, Review of Catholic faith- Bible -Oct. 10th, The Church's position on hell -Oct. 24th, Medical ethics: Stem-cell research -Oct. 31st, Medical ethics continued: living wills and current practices -Nov. 7th, Review of Catholic faith: Church -Nov. 14th, The 2nd Vatican council mandated the restoration and revision of our Sacramental Rites. Information and discussion. -Nov. 21st, How did last week's topic affect the Church and the Sacramental Rites -Dec. 5th & 12th: Advent themes -Jan. 9th, Review of Catholic faith: Sacraments -Jan. 16th, Human sexuality- Scripture, Church -Jan. 23rd, Continuation of topic: Dr. Margie Ralph -Jan. 31st, Continuation of topic. *Religious Education classes for Senior High school will be held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Great program for the year! *Stewardship weekend, September 18th & 19th. If you miss this weekend, please take a paper and sign up for a ministry. *VIRTUS Progam: Protecting God's Children. Will be offered at JOS on Oct. 30 from 9am-12 noon. All adults that work with children in the parish in any capacity must attend this workshop. >>>COMING ATTRACTION:<<< Morehead Churches Craft Fair Coming this Fall, the Saturday before Thanksgiving at the Carl Perkins Center.
